The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy (YBA) is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the organizational mission of contributing to a healthier community and combating food insecurity. The ideal person for this role has a passion for addressing issues of food insecurity, creating access to healthy food, engaging the community and youth, plus preparing and serving meals. The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will prepare and serve food for the Academy’s after-school program, ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of the Academy’s teaching kitchen, and help coordinate the distribution of food during the Academy’s YBA PLAY Program. The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will also track and document the number of snacks and meals distributed on a daily basis and prepare the necessary documentation for food safety risk management.
This is a part-time position. The Coordinator must be available to work the YBA school year work hours: 2:30pm-7:30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays; 5:30pm-7:30pm on Mondays. Late June to early August work hours: 8am-2:30pm.

Compensation:
The projected wage rate for this position is $21.00 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
