JOB SUMMARY: The Security Operations Manager responsible for overseeing all aspects of venue and facility security operations, including licensing compliance, recruitment, training, investigations, budgeting, and management of full-time armed security personnel. This role leads the development and implementation of security programs, operational policies, incident management systems, and safety protocols while coordinating with internal departments, tenants, vendors, and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Responsible for compliance with all security licenses through the State of Texas Security Licensing Department.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and license all full-time armed security officers, including renewal process of current license holders.

  • Develop and implement security training program, beyond that required by the State of Texas, as it relates to security officers and guards, including training documentation.

  • Lead trainer of Level 2, 3, and 4 training courses for all security personnel.

  • Responsible for overall direction and implementation of a highly visible, well-trained, armed uniformed force for Texas Rangers venues. 

  • Responsible for procuring, managing and ensuring maintenance and inventory of all security equipment as well as security operations infrastructure systems. 

  • Maintain and cultivate a positive and proactive relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop, implement, and revise department policies (Standard Operating Procedures) as it relates to full-time security matters and security operations.

  • Partner with office tenants of properties and ensure safety protocols and procedures are provided, adhered to, and documented.

  • Ensure shift personnel are efficient and effective in the use of the incident management system platform to track incidents, trends, and utilize data analytics

  • Oversee the Security Operations budget. 

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all personnel under their report.

  • Attend internal and external meetings that require security scheduling, including weekly special event logistical meetings.

  • Lead person on all security department contracts, except event security contract vendor.

  • Lead person on all investigations and follow up investigations. Work with the police department on all criminal matters for reporting and follow up investigations.

  • Responsible for oversight of security program and security training of personnel at Rangers Youth Academy.

  • Order, maintain inventory, and issuance of all security related uniforms for full-time officers.

  • Collaborate with peers and other departments to ensure venue safety and security, while maintaining the highest level of guest experience

  • Participate in the development and administration of the Security Department’s annual budget; forecast staffing, training, equipment, materials, and supply budget requirements; monitor expenditures; implement adjustments as needed.

  • Provide analytical insight to day-to-day operations and make measurable changes and improvements to processes.

  • Manage the interview process as well as background investigations on potential full-time armed employees.   

  • Leads and manages full-time supervisor staff to ensure compliance and accountability for work tasks. 

  • Process payroll, provide constructive feedback and perform evaluations for all 24/7 Security Supervisors.

  • Manages process for ordering and inventory control of uniforms and equipment for 24/7 security operations.

  • Manage inventory for all security related items. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the field of sports/entertainment venue or professional work experience within a pertinent Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency.

  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive supervisory management experience in security with direct responsibility supervising and directing staff across a wide range of security operating functions in a changing environment.

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office products.

  • Knowledge of venue security incident reporting software, video camera software platforms and access control software. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively and in a professional, diplomatic, and mature manner with internal and external clients and peers at all levels within an organization and throughout the community.

  • Highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment while meeting multiple and at times conflicting deadlines.

  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.

  • Ability to lead, give clear, concise direction and provide constructive feedback.

  • Must be detail oriented and can multi-task.

  • On-call, 24/7, as needed and based on venue event schedule. 

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
